• LEXIN helps 8 trusts` which manage 38 wind turbines (investment USD 150.000.000), assessing the existence of alleged anticompetitive practices in the spot market of electric power.

• Proud of advising Uruguay’s pioneer convenience store chain ”Kinko”, from store 0 to 20+ and currently employing +200. Upcoming stage: opening of 10 new stores and franchise expansion.

• LEXIN represented Kinko in court against the national meat institute following the latter’s ban to sell meat at Kinko’s convenience stores due to non compliance with the minimum 200m2 of sales surface area. After winning the first case for one of the stores and not having the appeals court listened the unconstitutionality arguments (in a one only instance trial) for the rest of the stores, LEXIN seeks further administrative actions to prevent the application of alleged anti-competitive rules.

• Medero is part of a Specialist Team providing legal advice to Schuepbach Energy Uruguay in onshore oil & gas exploration. Currently looking forward to the drilling of 4 exploration wells in 2017.

• As the boom of residential building construction in Uruguay merited a closer look into the application of the underlying civil liability regime, Medero submitted an article on the matter which was published in the prestigious national legal journal “Doctrina y Jurisprudencia de Derecho Civil” (TOMO V, July, 2017).

• LEXIN takes IMM (Montevideo’s Municipal Government) to court after block in logistics project while negotiating the transformation of one of Montevideo’s major warehouses into a 300+ apartment and commercial center building project of USD 50.000.000 +. Interpretation and application of private property zoning restrictions is a serious matter where Legal principles should play a key role over rules of law.
